Cancelled by Netflix a few weeks after its second season aired, Warrior Nun will soon be back, as series creator Simon Barry announced on Twitter.

“Today I’m happy to officially report that because of your combined voices, passion and amazing efforts – Warrior Nun will return and is going to be more EPIC than you could imagine. More details to come! SOON! Thank-you!!” The news is sure to please fans of the series, which has received rave reviews on specialized platforms and made Netflix’s Top 10 on multiple occasions.

A renewal made possible by fans

Lucifer, Timeless, Manifest, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, One Day At A Time, and now Warrior Nun. All of these shows have one thing in common: they received strong support from their fans, which allowed them to get one or more additional seasons.

In fact, if Warrior Nun has the right to return to the small screen, it’s thanks to the crucial role its fandom has played in recent months. As soon as the show’s cancellation was announced, the fandom launched numerous support campaigns, whether through hashtags like #SaveWarriorNun, the purchase of billboards, or petitions. A daily mobilization that paid off as the fans were heard almost seven months after the cancellation of Warrior Nun.

While it remains to be seen whether this comeback will take the form of a Season 3 or a movie, fans have a lot to celebrate. At the time of writing, over 71,000 tweets have already been posted, proving that fans are on board for this fantastic series that deserves to be seen.

What is the Warrior Nun series about?

The 18-episode series Warrior Nun follows Ava (Alba Baptista), a young woman who wakes up alive in a morgue with a divine artifact implanted in her back. She discovers that she is now part of an ancient order whose mission is to fight demons on Earth.

The cast also includes Kristina Tonteri-Young, Lorena Andrea, Toya Turner, Tristán Ulloa, Thekla Reuten, Sylvia De Fanti and William Miller.
