In addition to its manga adaptations, including City Hunter, One Piece, Yu Yu Hakusho and Parasyte, Netflix has decided to adapt a cult cartoon, Scooby-Doo, into live action. This information has been reported by several American media, including Deadline and Variety.
The new live-action series will be developed by Greg Berlanti‘s production company (Riverdale, Arrow) and written by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg. The duo is known for their work as executive producers on Citadel, Cowboy Bebop, Zoo and Knightfall.
No plot details have been released, but Variety reports that the new Scooby-Doo series will be based on the original cartoon created by Hanna-Barbera Studios. Scooby-Doo follows a team of young detectives who solve mysteries involving monsters and paranormal phenomena. The team consists of Fred, Daphne, Vera, Sammy and Scooby-Doo, their fearful, greedy dog.
