The Walking Dead universe was once again represented at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, and the panel on Friday, July 21, was full of surprises. We tell you all about it.

Zombies back to haunt AMC

While the cast and writers strike forced AMC to revise its plans for its The Walking Dead panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the American network still delighted fans with its various announcements.

As expected, AMC debuted the first trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon during the event, after airing several clips in recent weeks. But the American network didn’t stop there, confirming that the series will have a second season, even if the first one won’t air until September 10th.

The Daryl Dixon spin-off won’t be the only one continuing its adventure on AMC, as the network has announced that the series centered around Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) will also be getting a Season 2. The announcement comes just days before the airing of the final episode of the first season of The Walking Dead: Dead City.

Dan McDermott, President of Entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, said he was looking forward to “bring Dead City fans back to the epicenter of Manhattan […] And, ahead of its debut, we’re thrilled to double down on Daryl as we bring the apocalypse to France, transforming Notre Dame, Pont du Gard and other iconic locales into an apocalyptic landscape unlike anything we’ve seen before.”
