Like The Boys, its spin-off, Gen V, quickly won over Prime Video subscribers, becoming the #1 show in more than 130 countries. So it comes as no surprise that Amazon’s streaming platform has decided to offer the series a second season even before the first salvo of episodes has aired.

In a press release, series showrunner Michele Farzekas and executive producer Eric Kripke said they “couldn’t be happier to make a second season of Gen V. These are characters and stories we’ve grown to love, and we are thrilled to know people feel the same! The writers are already working on the new season—sophomore year is gonna be wild, with all the twists, heart, satire, and exploding genitalia you’ve come to expect from the show.”

For those unfamiliar with Gen V, the series follows the students of Godolkin University, an institution that trains superheroes. The students learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and that the difference between good and evil isn’t as clear-cut as they thought. And when the dark secrets of their university come to light, the students must decide what kind of heroes they will become.

The cast of the first season of Gen V includes Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lizze Broadway (Here and Now), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Shelley Conn (Liar), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), London Thor (Shameless), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Sean Patrick Thomas (Washington Police) and Marco Pigossi (Caras & Bocas).

The final two episodes of Gen V Season 1 will air on Amazon’s streaming platform on October 27 and November 3, 2023.
