Announced for many months by Disney+, the series Beauty and the Beast (temporary name), a prequel to the eponymous film released in 2017, gradually unveils its cast. An update on the first names announced.
Based on the characters of Gaston and LeFou, again played by Luke Evans and Josh Gad, the series will also have in its cast Briana Middleton, in a leading role. The actress will play Tilly, Louie’s (LeFou) half-sister, who accompanies the duo on an unexpected journey filled with romance, comedy and adventure after a startling revelation about her past is made.
Fra Free, who recently starred in the Hawkeye series, will also participate in this Disney production. He will play Prince Benoit Berlioz, a childhood friend of Tilly’s. He is described as handsome, charismatic and confident. Jelani Alladin, seen in The Walking Dead: World Beyond, will also be in the series as Jean-Michel, a charming and talented artist with a sharp mind.
The latest addition to the cast of Beauty and the Beast is British singer Rita Ora in a role that is currently being kept secret.
The 8 episode series is developed by Josh Gad and the duo Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who created Once Upon A Time. The direction of the first episode is entrusted to Liesl Tommy while the iconic Alan Menken will compose the music of the series.
