After a first version that didn’t impress, the CW decided to give a second chance to the series reboot of the movie The Lost Boys. The project led by Heather Mitchell and Rob Thomas replaces the entire cast to make room for new names. Let’s take a look.

The Lost Boys says goodbye to its former headliners Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), Dakota Shapiro (Valley of the Boom), Sarah Hay (Flash and Bone), Kiele Sanchez (Kingdom), Medalion Rahimi (Still Star-Crossed), Rio Mangini (Bella et les Bulldogs), Cheyenne Haynes (Just Add Magic), Haley Tju (Prince of Peoria) and Del Zamora (The Red Road) to make way for a brand new cast.

According to information released by Deadline, Heather Mitchell and Rob Thomas have already selected four actors and actresses for this new version of the pilot. The cast has been announced as follows: Branden Cook (Industry), Lincoln Younes (Grand Hotel), Ruby Cruz (Castle Rock) and Rochelle Aytes (Mistresses).

For this new pilot, Rochelle Aytes will play Jackie, a single mother of two sons, one of whom, Garrett, will be played by Branden Cook. Lincoln Younes will play Benjamin, the charismatic leader of the town’s vampires, while Ruby Cruz will play Elsie, a young girl who is close to Garrett.

As for the synopsis, it stays quite close to what was proposed for the previous version. Hence, we will follow Jackie, a single mother, who moves with her sons Garrett and Levi to the seaside town of North Carolina where she grew up. When they arrive, they discover that there is a sinister reason why the local kids sleep all day, party all night and never seem to grow old: they are vampires. Their family ties are put to the test as Garrett and Levi find themselves in the midst of an ancient struggle on opposite sides of the conflict.
