The City Hunter manga will be getting a new live-action adaptation on Netflix starting April 25, 2024, and it reveals itself through a two-minute trailer.

The highly anticipated movie, directed by Yuichi Satoh, will follow Ryo Saeba (Ryohei Suzuki) and Hideyuki Makimura (Masanobu Ando) as they search for Kurumi, a famous cosplayer. When Hideyuki is tragically killed during the investigation, his sister Kaori (Misato Morita) demands answers about her brother’s untimely death. The plot thickens when it is revealed that the mysterious drug “Angel Dust” is at the heart of the violent incidents in Shinjuku, and that Kurumi is the key to uncovering the truth.

True to the original work, the movie seems to have seduced Tsukasa Hojo, the creator of City Hunter: “I really enjoyed the film and was impressed by how well it was done. This film shows the characters running around in Shinjuku and I think this is what the fans expect, giving them the thrills of watching it come alive. I encourage all fans of the original manga and anime to experience it for themselves. Even a quick peek before bed will leave you too captivated to sleep. I hope everyone enjoys it.” A statement that should reassure City Hunter’s most passionate fans.
