With the end of in person conventions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Warner Bros. went virtual in 2020 with the DC FanDome convention. This online event, broadcast around the world, allowed the company to make a lot of announcements about works from the DC Comics universe.
After two successful editions, Warner Bros. Discovery has decided not to renew the experience in 2022 and prefers to focus on the in person events that have started again. This information was confirmed by the company to Popverse: “With the return of in person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be able to engage with our fans live at numerous comic-cons around the world and will not be scheduling DC FanDome for 2022”.
This decision won’t come as a huge surprise since no news had been given about the 2022 edition of the DC FanDome when DC Comics usually communicated several months in advance about the event. On the other hand, Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Comics made a great comeback a few months ago by attending the San Diego Comic-Con. The opportunity for them to present, as well as others, the trailers of Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Black Adam.
