Without much surprise, Warner Bros has decided to capitalize on the success of The Batman, which has already earned $760 million worldwide, by making a sequel. The announcement was made by Toby Emmerich, the head of the studio, during the CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

Robert Pattinson will once again wear the costume of the Dark Knight for this second part while the direction will still be done by Matt Reeves. The director took the stage briefly and said, “Thank you all for your tremendous support for The Batman. We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world. I’m excited to jump back into this world for the next chapter.”

As further evidence of The Batman‘s success, Warner Bros has decided to develop a spin-off series about the character of the Penguin, played in the film by Colin Farrell, scheduled to air on HBO Max.
