Casting rumors for The Fantastic Four have been swirling for several months now, but Marvel has put an end to them by officially announcing the names of the actors who will play the four superheroes. As expected, Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us, The Mandalorian), Vanessa Kirby (Mission Impossible, The Crown), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear, NOS4A2) and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things, A Quiet Place: Day One) have been announced for Matt Shakman‘s (Wandavision) feature film.

Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, while Vanessa Kirby will take on the role of Sue Storm aka The Invisible Woman. Joseph Quinn will play Johnny Storm, Sue’s brother, aka The Human Torch. Finally, Ebon Moss-Bachrach will play Ben Grimm / The Thing.

Previously, these superheroes were portrayed on the big screen by Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis in the films Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). In 2015, an unsuccessful reboot of the franchise was initiated, starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell. Ten years later, and following Disney’s acquisition of FOX, The Fantastic four will be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The new version of The Fantastic four, with a script by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, will be released in U.S. theaters on July 25, 2025, a date originally reserved for the film Thunderbolts.
