The Winchesters, the Supernatural prequel series, has found its lead actors. According to Variety, the production has cast Meg Donnelly (American Housewife, Z-O-M-B-I-E-S) and Drake Rodger as the young versions of Mary Campbell and John Winchester.
Mary is described as a 19-year-old woman who has been fighting the forces of darkness since she was a child. After losing someone close to her, she considers giving up her hunting career, but the disappearance of her father and the arrival of John will force her to continue. John, meanwhile, has just returned from Vietnam when his father’s past leads him to a secret organization and a whole new war as a hunter.
Created by Robbie Thompson, Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles, The Winchesters will revisit the love story of Dean and Sam’s parents. At the moment, only one pilot episode has been ordered by The CW. It will be directed by Glen Winter (Smallville, Supergirl) and written by Robbie Thompson.
