Outlander: many returns and new faces for season 7

Season 7 of Outlander, currently being shot in Scotland, will feature the return of many stars who took part in the previous seasons.

On its social networks, Starz, the channel that broadcasts the series in the United States, confirmed the presence in the cast of Graham McTavish (Dougal MacKenzie), Nell Hudson (Laoghaire Fraser), Steven Cree (Ian Murray), Andrew Whipp (Brian Fraser), Layla Burns (Joan MacKimmie) and Lotte Verbeek (Geillis Duncan). The character of Jenny will also return in season 7 of Outlander but will be played by a new actress: Kristin Atherton.

In a statement, Matthew B. Roberts, showrunner of the series, said: “One of the many joys of our epic story is the element of time travel which allows us to revisit some of our favorite characters in different times and places, and we’re thrilled to welcome back so many familiar faces for season seven. In addition to our returning cast, we’re also excited to welcome several new actors to the Outlander family and cannot wait to introduce them to fans in our extended season.”

Among the new faces in Outlander season 7 are Chris Fulton (Clique) as Rob Cameron, a new acquaintance of Roger and Brianna; Diarmaid Murtagh (The One) as Buck MacKenzie, the illegitimate son of Dougal MacKenzie and Geillis Duncan ; Gloria Obianyo (Good Omens) as Mercy Woodcock, a free black woman facing the hardships of life in colonial America and Rod Hallett (The Last Kingdom) as Benedict Arnold, the notorious Revolutionary War traitor.
