The 28th edition of the Screen Actors Guild Awards delivered its verdict this Sunday, February 27, 2022. A ceremony in which the international success of Squid Game was again confirmed. The Korean series won 3 awards: best actor in a drama series (Lee Jung-Jae), best actress in a drama series (Jung Ho-Yeon) and best stunts.
Succession and Ted Lasso, who led the nominations in the series categories, also left with awards. The series Succession was awarded in the category Best Casting in a Drama Series while Ted Lasso won awards in the categories Best Casting in a Comedy and Best Actor in a Comedy (Jason Sudeikis).
In the film categories, the two feature films that led the nominations (The Power of the Dog and House of Gucci) returned empty-handed from the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards. The actors’ and actresses’ union voted for CODA in the categories Best Casting and Best Supporting Actor (Troy Kotsur), for Will Smith for his performance in King Richard (Best Actor), for Jessica Chastain (Best Actress) for her role in The Eyes of Tammy Faye and for Ariana Debose as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the remake of West Side Story.
