It, the original movie’s remake based on the famous Stephen King novel, was released on September 8, 2017 in the United States and received positive reviews from all over the world. The production cost was pricey, $35 millon, to be exact, but the movie was such a hit that it had a box-office return of $700 million and created a big profit. Consequently, a sequel to It was unavoidable and in order to do it, Andy Muschietti will spare no expense.

It : Chapter 2 will see the light of day on September 9, 2019 and will follow up on the first movie’s plot, many years later, with the Losers Club’s members who all became adults. Thanks to the profit made by the first movie, Andy Muschietti will not deprive himself. We can see that in his choices concerning the cast.

Slowly, big names seems to align themselves in the cast of It : Chapter 2. Jessica Chastain (Miss Sloane) will be playing Beverly, previously interpreted by Sophia Lillis. But that’s not all. It would seem that James McAvoy (Split) and Bill Hader (The Skeleton Twins) also are in the negotiation stage with Muschietti. If everything goes according to plan, the two actors will be joining the Losers Club. James McAvoy will be playing Bill, played by Jaeden Lieberher in the previous movie and Bill Hader will play the part of Richie, previously played by Finn Wolfhard. Bill Skarsgard (Hemlock Grove) will obviously be playing Pennywise once again.

There’s still a few more members of the Losers Club to find but the cast for this sequel already seems promising. The shooting will start during summer of 2018, it’s very likely that we’ll have new information about this project at that point. Anyway, one thing is certain : It : Chapter 2 will have to face high expectations.
