Beetlejuice 2 has been in the works for several years, but now Warner Bros. has made it official and set a release date. In the United States, Tim Burton’s feature film will be released on September 6, 2024. With 15 months to go until it hits the big screen, we take a look at the cast.

The original cast will be there

A sequel to the cult 80’s movie, Beetlejuice 2 will feature some of the original cast. This should reassure fans of Tim Burton‘s movie.

Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder are the first to return. Keaton will once again play the iconic Beetlejuice, while Winona Ryder will reprise her role as Lydia. In the 1988 film, Lydia is a young girl who moves into a haunted house and is the only one with the ability to see the ghosts of Adam and Barbara Maitland, the previous occupants of the house.

Catherine O’Hara, who played Lydia’s stepmother Delia Deetz, will also appear in Beetlejuice 2. Danny Elfman, another member of the original cast, is also involved in the project. Elfman, who composed the music for the original Beetlejuice, will do it too for the sequel.

New names include Jenna Ortega and Willem Dafoe

As announced in recent weeks, Jenna Ortega will join the cast of Beetlejuice 2, reuniting with Tim Burton, with whom she previously worked on the series Mercredi. She will play Lydia’s daughter in the sequel.

Other big names have also been announced for Beetlejuice 2. According to the American media, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man), Justin Theroux (Mosquito Coast) and Monica Bellucci (Matrix) are attached to the project. The roles of the first two are being kept under wraps at the time of this writing, while rumors suggest that Monica Bellucci may play Beetlejuice’s wife.
