Netflix cancels The Imperfects and Partner Track after one season

Bad news for those who enjoyed The Imperfects and Partner Track as Netflix has decided to cancel both series after only one season.

Partner Track: a cliffhanger ending

Partner Track was launched last August 26, 2022 and quickly ranked in the Top 10 of Netflix. A position that the series occupied for three weeks but that was not enough to guarantee a second season.

And it’s bad news for the fans of Partner Track – adaptation of the eponymous novel by Helen Wan – since the only season ends on a cliffhanger that left Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho) in a delicate position.

For those who are not familiar with Helen Wan‘s novel, Partner Track tells the story of Ingrid Yun, a young lawyer who joins a prestigious law firm in New York and who will do everything to become one of the partners of the firm. The cast also includes Dominic Sherwood (Shadowhunters), Bradley Gibson (Power Book II: Ghost), Alexandra Turshen (Ray Donovan), Nolan Gerard Funk (The Flight Attendant), Rob Heaps (Dare Me) and Matthew Rauch (Blue Bloods).

The Imperfects: this is it for Netflix’s “monsters”

Launched at the beginning of September on Netflix, the series The Imperfects followed Abbi (Rhianna Jagpal), Tilda (Morgan Taylor Campbell) and Juan (Iñaki Godoy), three young people in their twenties who unite in order to find the scientist who turned them into monsters and who will be able to help them become human again.

Like Partner Track, The Imperfects slipped into the TOP 10 at its launch and stayed there for 3 weeks. Again, this was not enough for the series to get the green light for a second season. And again, this cancellation is frustrating because many questions remain unanswered.

The one season of The Imperfects is made of 10 episodes and have in its cast: Italia Ricci (Designated Survivor), Kyra Zagorsky (Helix), Rhys Nicholson (Orange is the New Brown), Celina Martin (The Other Kingdom), Rekha Sharma (Yellowjackets), Junnicia Lagoutin (Nancy Drew) and Ron Selmour (Arrow).
