A month after the release of the first season on Netflix, the streaming giant announced that Spinning Out, the series created by Samantha Stratton, was cancelled. Spinning Out‘s skaters failed to attract an audience, as apparently, it was poorly promoted by Netflix.
The series followed Kat Baker (Kaya Scodelario), a figure skater whose career is almost over after a fall and who is trying to get back on track by switching to pair skating. She will then team up with Justin (Evan Roderick), a talented, but rebellious, skater. To reach the top, Kat will have to deal with her fears, trauma and a dark secret that could ruin all her efforts.
The cast for the first and only season also included Mitchell Edwards (All American, The Fix), Svetlana Efremova (The Americans, ), Charlie Hewson (Cam Girls), January Jones (The Last Man on Earth, Mad Men), Will Kemp (Reign, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce), Kaitlyn Leeb (Slasher, Shadowhunters), Willow Shields (Hunger Games, The Unsettling), Johnny Weir, Sarah Wright (7th Heaven, Marry Me) and Amanda Zhou (October Faction).
