Based on Chloe Walsh’s best-selling book series, Boys of Tommen is coming to Prime Video. The streaming platform has officially unveiled the main cast of this highly anticipated drama.
Nancy Surridge (Casualty) will play Shannon Lynch, a mysterious and reserved new student at Tommen College, in the lead role. Conor Sánchez (Mix Tape) will play Johnny Kavanagh, the star of the school’s rugby team.
James O’Donoghue (Fair City) will play Joey Lynch, Shannon’s protective yet troubled brother. Sophie McGibbon will play Aoife Molloy, a young woman brimming with self-confidence.
Brendan Canty, who won an award at the Berlin International Film Festival for his 2025 film Christy, will direct. Ingrid Goodwin (Blood) is serving as a producer, and Poppy Cogan, known for her work on the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder adaptation, is handling the screenplay. She is also serving as an executive producer alongside Chloe Walsh.
The first season, commissioned by Prime Video, will consist of eight episodes and adapt the first two novels in the series: Binding 13 and Keeping 13. The novels focus on the forbidden relationship between Johnny and Shannon. The official synopsis reads: “Boys of Tommen follows the forbidden love story of Johnny Kavanagh, the star rugby player on the verge of a pro career, and Shannon Lynch, the talented but painfully shy new girl at the prestigious private school of Tommen College in Ballylaggin, Ireland. Both teenagers are hiding secrets; Johnny, a potentially career-ending injury, and Shannon, a troubled and violent homelife. Through their secret and highly charged connection, the two teens from opposite worlds battle against the odds and find a way to save each other.”
