Leslie Jordan, who was currently starring in the series Call Me Kat alongside Mayim Bialik, died at the age of 67 in a car accident. According to the first elements revealed by the authorities of Los Angeles, the actor would have had a health problem while he was driving his vehicle.
During the confinement, Leslie Jordan had become a phenomenon on social networks thanks to his humorous videos. But, his immense career could not be summed up in that. An actor, writer and singer, he was an LGBTQ icon who took part in many projects in theater, television and film.
Best known for his role as Beverly Leslie on Will & Grace, a role for which he won an Emmy Award in 2006, Leslie Jordan had become a well-known presence on the small screen over the years. American Horror Story, Boston Public, The Cool Kids, Living the Dream, Raising Hope, Desperate Housewives, 12 Miles of Bad Road, Hidden Palms, and Hearts Afire are just a few of the series in which he has appeared.
Tributes from the cast of Call Me Kat and Will & Grace
The production of Call Me Kat, series in which he played since last year, has been suspended following the announcement of the death of Leslie Jordan. In a statement sent to Deadline, the team of the series says: “There aren’t words to convey the loss we are experiencing as a cast and a Call Me Kat family. Leslie Jordan was larger than life. He was a Southern gentleman; tender, wise, naughty and hilarious. We got to know and love him at the height of his happiness and joy and it is inconceivable to imagine a world without our Leslie: the man who would spit on his contact lenses before putting them in his eyes, the man who had a story about every man in Hollywood and some of the women as well, the man who lived to make people laugh. We will be taking time to grieve and to celebrate the many gifts Leslie gave to us and to the entire world and we appreciate privacy at this time.”
The cast of Will & Grace also reacted to the death of the actor and in particular Megan Mullally who played his “enemy” in the series. In an Instagram post, the latter states:
