DC and Warner Bros have (finally) decided according to The Wrap. While four actresses were in the running to play the character of Barbara Gordon, the studio has chosen Leslie Grace to play the lead role in the Batgirl movie.
This will be the second major role for the actress who is currently starring in the adaptation of the musical In the Heights.
While details of the script are not yet known, we do know that the film will be directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the duo behind Bad Boys for Life. The story will be written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, The Flash and Bumblebee).
Batgirl will be an HBO Max exclusive. No air date has yet been announced.
