Naya Rivera, known for her role as Santana Lopez in the Glee series, died at the age of 33. The actress had rented a boat to take her son on a boat ride on Lake Piru, California. She had been missing for five days after the authorities found her son alone on the boat.

On Monday July 13, Naya Rivera was officially declared dead. Her body was tragically found in Lake Piru. According to the medical examiner, the cause of death was an accidental drowning.

Actress, singer, mother, Naya Rivera had many roles in her life. She became known to the public thanks to her role as Santana Lopez in the hit musical series Glee. A character that she played for 113 episodes and that earned her several awards. She later joined season 3 of Devious Maids. In recent years, she has been featured as Collette Jones in the series, Step up: High Water. Naya Rivera had also appeared in shows such as CSI: Miami, American Dad! and Girlfriends. She had also appeared in a few feature films such as Glee!: The 3D Concert Movie and At the Devil’s Door as Vera Moreno. In 2016, she published an autobiographical book entitled Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up.
