The series Interview with the Vampire, adaptation of Anne Rice‘s work for AMC, quickly seduced viewers during its launch in October 2022 and will soon return to the American channel for a new salvo of 8 episodes. New episodes that will include a major change since one of the main characters has been recast.
As a reminder, the first season of Interview With the Vampire followed Louis (Jacob Anderson), a black man resentful of the limitations of life imposed on him by his skin color, who can’t resist the offer of the seductive Lestat (Sam Reid), who proposes the ultimate escape: becoming a vampire. But Louis’ exhilarating new powers come with a violent price, and the introduction of Lestat’s latest fledgling, Claudia (Bailey Bass), soon sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.
A new actress for Claudia
If Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid will return to their roles, Bailey Bass will cede her place to Delainey Hayles (Holby City) for the role of Claudia.
In a statement, Bailey Bass said the change was due to “a variety of unforeseen circumstances” that made her unavailable for filming. She added: “Playing Claudia has been a dream role and an incredible ride. I wish Delainey the best of luck in taking over. I cannot wait to watch.”
AMC, also in a press release, paid tribute to the actress’ “unforgettable performance” and wished her the best for the future.
