This Saturday, March 4, 2023, the 36th Kid’s Choice Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles. Hosted by Charli D’Amelio, who won the award for Best Content Creator, and Nate Burleson, the ceremony confirmed the success of the series Wednesday and its star, Jenna Ortega. The Netflix series, which launched in late 2022, was crowned best family series by voters, while Jenna Ortega won best actress in a family series.
There were few surprises in the other series categories, as the Kids Choice Award for best animated series once again went to SpongeBob SquarePants, while Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett again won best actress and actor in a children’s series. They won for their roles as Nini and Ricky in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
On the big screen, Dwayne Johnson doubled in 2023, taking home the Kids Choice Awards for Best Actor (Black Adam) and Best Male Voice in an Animated Film (DC League of Super-Pets). Millie Bobby Brown, who won Best Actress in 2021 for her role as Enola Holmes, wins the award again for her performance in the second feature film dedicated to the young detective.
In the music categories, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift received the most votes. The British singer took home three Kids Choice Awards: favorite male artist, best song (As It Was) and favorite international artist. Taylor Swift, on the other hand, won the awards for Favorite Female Artist and Best Album. Note that after Olivia Rodrigo in 2022, the award for the revelation of the year goes to another star who started in the Disney stable: Dove Cameron.
