Stephen Amell wasn’t alone for long in the casting of Suits L.A., the Suits spinoff whose pilot has been ordered by NBC. As revealed by Deadline, the actor will be joined by two new names: Josh McDermitt and Lex Scott Davis.
Josh McDermitt, best known for his role in The Walking Dead, will play Stuart Lane, an old friend of Ted Black (Stephen Amell) with whom he has teamed up to form Black Lane Law, a Los Angeles firm specializing in criminal and entertainment law. The character is described as energetic, powerful, determined and self-centered. Lex Scott Davis, previously seen in Rebel and Florida Man, will play Erica Rollins, an intelligent, strong-willed rising star who works for Ted Black. The character description also tells us that she’s cunning enough to test the loyalty of her coworkers and admire some of them for their lack of loyalty.
To recap, Suits L.A., created by Aaron Korsh, follows Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor in New York who now runs a law firm in Los Angeles. But when his firm faces a crisis, he must take on a role he’s spurned throughout his career, surrounded by associates who can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.
