Badly rated on specialized sites (3.9 out of 10 on IMDB, 27% on Rotten Tomatoes), the Resident Evil series will not return for a second season on Netflix.

Despite an encouraging start with 72.7 million viewing hours in the first week and 73.3 million in the second week, the series left the TOP 10 of the streaming platform in its third week. If we add to that the bad reviews, this cancellation will not be too surprising.

The Resident Evil series, developed by Andrew Dabb, followed Jade Wesker (Ella Balinska) who struggles, in 2036, to survive in a world invaded by disturbing creatures infected by a virus and thirsty for blood. In the midst of this absolute carnage, the young woman is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s (Lance Reddick) ties to the sinister Umbrella Corporation and, most importantly, by what happened to her sister, Billie (Siena Agudong).
