Bad news for fans of the series Raising Dion: Netflix has decided not to renew the program for a third season.
The information was revealed by Sammi Haney, the actress who plays Esperanza, Dion’s best friend (Ja’Siah Young), on her social networks: “Sad to say that Raising Dion is CANCELED. Thank you for all of the amazing support we got from all of our wonderful fans! Season 2 was a success, equal to Season 1, even if just looking at how many people watched all of it and wanted a season 3!”
The second season of Raising Dion, launched on February 1, 2022, had remained in the global TOP 10 of Netflix for 4 consecutive weeks. A proof of the interest of the platform’s subscribers for this adaptation of Dennis Liu’s comics.
As a reminder, Raising Dion follows the adventures of Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) and her son Dion after the latter began to manifest several abilities similar to those of superheroes. In the cast, in addition to the names previously mentioned, we found Jason Ritter (Pat Rollins), Ali Ahn (Suzanne Wu), Gavin Munn (Jonathan King), Jazmin Simon (Kat), Griffin Robert Faulkner (Brayden Mills), Deirdre Lovejoy (Charlotte Tuck), Rome Flynn (Tevin Wakefield) or Josh Ventura (David Marsh).
