Netflix announces dates for Archive 81, Vikings: Valhalla, In From the Cold and Raising Dion Season 2

In 2022, Netflix will still be full of new releases and new seasons. If the launch dates of Sandman, Resident Evil, Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, Magic: The Gathering, Stranger Things season 4, Umbrella Academy season 3 or Alice in Borderland season 2 are not yet known, the streaming giant has unveiled the airing dates of 4 programs expected in January and February.

On January 14, 2022, Netflix will offer Archive 81, a series inspired by the eponymous podcast and supervised by Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys, Vampire Diaries). The series will follow archivist Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie), who takes on a mysterious job restoring a set of videotapes dating back to 1994. Reconstructing a documentary shot by Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi), he becomes interested in her investigation of a dangerous cult. As the season progresses in two parallel time periods, Dan becomes increasingly obsessed with Melody’s story. When the two characters mysteriously connect, Dan is convinced he can save the documentary filmmaker from the terrifying end she faced 25 years earlier.

Starting January 28, 2022, the streaming giant will air In from the Cold, a series focused on Jenny (Margarita Levieva), an American single mother whose life is turned upside down when the CIA forces her to reconnect with her past as a Russian agent with extraordinary skills. After a mysterious series of deadly and bizarre incidents that suggest a killer with the same abilities as her is targeting innocent people, Jenny is forced to return to duty to stop the dangerous character or risk jeopardizing her family and the new life she has built.

A few days later, on February 1 to be precise, Netflix will launch the second season of Raising Dion. The new episodes will take place two years after Season 1 and will follow Dion (Ja’Siah Young) as he learns to master his powers while facing a new threat. To help him save the city of Atlanta, he’ll have the support of his mother (Alisha Wainwright).

Finally, on February 25, 2022, the streaming platform will propose the sequel of Vikings. Taking place 100 years after the end of the original series, Vikings: Valhalla will tell the story of some of the most famous Vikings, including legendary explorer Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), his strong-willed sister Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson) and ambitious northern prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter).
