Why Women Kill, the anthology series by Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives), will return for a third season on Paramount+. A renewal that is explained by the success of season 2 on the streaming platform as explained by Nicole Clemens, director of original series at Paramount+, in a statement.

The second season of Why Women Kill actually ranked among the top 10 series on Paramount+ in terms of overall engagement and new subscriber acquisition. So we can see why the platform wants to continue with this series that “explores the intricate lives of its female characters with a style, charm and dark humor only Marc Cherry can provide”.

While Season 1 of Why Women Kill followed three women who were victims of adultery in different eras (the 1960s, the 1980s and contemporary times), Season 2 took place in 1949 and explored how far a woman was willing to go to be noticed by society. The storyline for season 3 is still unknown.

After Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu and Kirby Howell-Baptiste in season 1 and Lana Parrilla and Allison Tolman in season 2, the question now is who will take their place in the cast of season 3 to play the new “riveting, scandalous characters” created by Marc Cherry. We’ll have an answer in the next few months.
