Nearly 20 years after its release, Saw remains one of the most lucrative franchises in cinema and will soon be returning to theaters. For its tenth film, the gruesome saga will once again feature the presence of John Kramer/Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) as its main character. It’s a return that should please longtime fans.
In Saw X, which takes place between Saw and Saw II, an ailing and desperate John Kramer travels to Mexico to undergo a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of finding a miracle cure for his cancer. But when he discovers that the whole operation is a scam targeting the most vulnerable, he decides to take revenge by creating a new series of traps.
Will Jigsaw’s new victims do anything to live, or will they let themselves die? The choice is up to them, as the infamous killer suggests in the official trailer unveiled by Lionsgate. But he won’t be the only threat in Saw X, as Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith) will also be on board. This is just the beginning of their collaboration.
Saw X, directed by Kevin Greutert, will also welcome Synnøve Macody Lund (Ragnarök), Steven Brand (Vikings: Valhalla), Michael Beach (Mayor of Kingstown), Renata Vaca (Rosario Tijeras), Paulette Hernandez (Corona de lágrimas) and Octavio Hinojosa (Cómo sobrevivir soltero) to the cast.
