Quickly iconic thanks to his traps, the killer Jigsaw, played by Tobin Bell, will be back in the next movie of the Saw saga. The information has been confirmed as the production of Saw X is set to begin this month.
Appearing in the first three movies of the franchise, John Kramer, aka Jigsaw, was eventually killed off in Saw 3, but his character didn’t disappear completely as he appeared in numerous flashbacks in the following movies. However, it may not be through this process that Jigsaw appears in Saw X.
In a statement, Mark Burg and Oren Koules, producers of the franchise, said: “What a thrill to be reuniting with Tobin. His performance as John Kramer is part of the magic that made this franchise a phenomenon and his character is an active part of this film.”
Deadline says the return is part of Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ strategy to offer fans a movie that captures everything they loved about the previous installments of the Saw franchise.
Kevin Greutert, editor of the first five Saw films and director of Saw 6 and Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, is in charge of the 10th film. Saw X is expected in American theaters on October 27, 2023. Ideal to get in the mood for Halloween.
