Hugh Jackman, who has been absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since 2017, will make his return as Wolverine for the purposes of the Deadpool 3 movie. The announcement was made by Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) on his social networks.
In a video of just over a minute, Ryan Reynolds said he worked very hard on the next Deadpool movie to make the arrival of this character in the MCU really special. And after brainstorming for a long time, the team of the movie had an idea to make the link with the MCU: to call Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman. To confirm that the latter is up for it, Ryan Reynolds asked him if he was ready to put on the suit again and got the answer “Yes, of course”.
In addition to this announcement, the video is an opportunity to discover the release date of Deadpool 3. The film is expected to hit American theaters on September 6, 2024. It will be directed by Shawn Levy, with whom Ryan Reynolds has already collaborated on Free Guy and The Adam Project.
