Six years after the release of A Simple Favor, Paul Feig is working on a sequel to his feature film and will be able to count on the presence of part of the original cast. In fact, as Amazon MGM Studios announced in a press release, Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho and Kelly McCormack will all be reprising their roles in the sequel.
In A Simple Favor 2, Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) travel to the beautiful Italian island of Capri for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman. But this wedding will be quite eventful, as the official synopsis tells us to “expect murder and betrayal”.
The script for the sequel was written by Jessica Sharzer, who also worked on the first film. A Simple Favor 2 is scheduled to begin filming this spring and will be available exclusively on Prime Video.
