Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre will work together again on a TV set, twelve years after the chaotic end of their collaboration on Two and a half men.

From love to hate

If you’re a fan of 2000s sitcoms, Two and a Half Men should be no stranger to you. The Chuck Lorre-created show was the number one comedy in the U.S. for nearly a decade, following Charlie (Charlie Sheen), a wealthy bachelor jingle writer whose life is turned upside down when his brother, Alan (Jon Cryer), a chiropractor, moves in with him after being kicked out by his wife, Judith (Marin Hinkle). What should be a simple phase for Alan and his son Jake (Angus T. Jones) turns into a long-term cohabitation.

Launched in 2003 on CBS, Two and a Half Men quickly became the most watched comedy in the United States after the end of the cult sitcom Friends. What to revive significantly the career of Charlie Sheen who had been damaged by many scandals in the late 1990s. But this was without counting on the return of the debacles of the actor who is fired from the series in 2011 after eight seasons. At fault, his self-destructive behavior and considered dangerous by the production. A dismissal that will go wrong with Charlie Sheen who will have a deep hatred towards Chuck Lorre for several years.

But in recent years, the American actor has made amends with Chuck Lorre and the production, taking responsibility for his actions. It seems that he was heard and forgiven, since the duo will work together again for the needs of a series broadcast on Max, formerly known as HBO Max.

Charlie Sheen back in the spotlight?

If the series How To Be a Bookie was already highly anticipated, as is the case with any Chuck Lorre production, the announcement of Charlie Sheen joining the cast should raise expectations to another level.

In How To Be a Bookie, we will follow an experienced bookie (Sebastian Maniscalco) who is trying to survive with his clients, his family, his colleagues and especially with the upcoming legalization of sports betting.

What’s Charlie Sheen‘s role in the sitcom? No details have been released yet. Will his character be a gambling addict like Charlie Harper in Two and a Half Men? We’ll have to wait and see, but Deadline tells us that Charlie Sheen will appear as a recurring character in the eight-episode series.

After a long desert crossing, this role could allow Charlie Sheen to rise from his ashes once again. Confirmation or not in the coming months.
