After playing Tony Stark for eleven years, Robert left his role in the penultimate Marvel movie, Avengers Engame. But even without the famous millionnaire the Avengers are still there.
With the release of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, the plot of which is based on the multiverse and alternatives realities, it is normal that some assumptions emerge on the internet. The most recent one started by Daniel Richtman, known for his cinematographic analyses. According to his statement, « Marvel Studios is considering a number of cameos in Doctor Strange to interpret different versions of characters we already know. Apparently, Tom Cruise is being considered Tony Stark another Earth. »
Fact or fiction, one thing is clear : reactions are mixed and Marvel aficionados do not seems ready to see the red and gold armour on the back of another actor. Even if the rumour feels really fake to some people, it has the power of opening new horizons and raising new questions regarding the possibilities of the Fourth Phase of films which is obviously still keeping its secrets.
