Jason David Frank, emblematic character of Power Rangers, and very often present in conventions to meet his fans, died at the age of 49 years.

The information had been revealed on social networks in the night of 19 to 20 November 2022, fans of Power Rangers hoping at that time that it was a hoax. The news of his death was later confirmed by his manager, Justine Hunt. The latter invited to respect the privacy of the family and friends of Jason David Frank “during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being.”

Known for playing Tommy Oliver in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Jason David Frank was a fan favorite in the franchise and his character quickly gained popularity when he was initially thought to be an antagonist who would only appear for a few episodes. Due to the success of his character, he became a regular and later joined the ranks of Power Rangers as a hero. Throughout his career, Jason David Frank was attached to the franchise and we could see him in Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers DinoThunder or Power Rangers HyperForce.

Walter Jones, with whom Jason David Frank shared the screen in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, said on Instagram that he was “sad to have lost another member of our very special family”. He has, in addition, shared a video of the last moments shared with the actor during a convention.

This is not the only actor of the franchise who wanted to pay tribute to Jason David Frank since David Yost, Jason Narvy, Blake Foster and Nakia Burrise, among others, also wanted to pay tribute to their friend.
