Stranger Things Season 5 has yet to begin filming due to the writers strike, but that hasn’t stopped Netflix from making announcements about the cast of these final episodes.
A bit of Terminator in Stranger Things
At the TUDUM event in Brazil on June 17, 2023, the streaming platform revealed that a cult actress from the ’80s will be joining the cast of Season 5. This isn’t the first time the Duffer Brothers have welcomed a key figure from the decade. In addition to Winona Ryder and Matthew Modine, who have played major roles since the series began, Stranger Things has welcomed Robert Englund, who played Freddy Krueger, Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), Sean Astin (The Goonies) and Paul Reiser (Aliens, Beverly Hills Cop), among others.
This time, production has turned to the Terminator saga, and Stranger Things Season 5 will feature the presence of Linda Hamilton. In a video message, the actress, who plays Sarah Connor on the big screen, says she doesn’t know “how to be a fangirl and an actress at the same time,” but adds that she’ll “work on that”.
