If you can’t wait to return to East High and see the cast of High School Musical reprise their iconic roles, Tim Federle, creator of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (HSMTMTS), has heard you.
Shortly after Disney released a short video of the season 4 opening number, Tim Federle shared the first four minutes of the upcoming season’s first episode on his Instagram account. The clip features Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Kaycee Stroh, Bart Johnson and Alyson Reed reprising their roles as Chad, Taylor, Ryan, Martha, Coach Bolton and Ms. Darbus.
The video also confirms that Ryan is happily married. His partner is played by Scott Hoying, known as one of the members of Pentatonix. The opening number also features Gina (Sofia Wylie) and Mack (Matthew Sato) on stage sharing a kiss. Should Ricky (Joshua Bassett) be concerned? Probably, judging by the reactions of Kourtney (Dara Renée) and Ashlyn (Julia Lester).
Available on Disney+ beginning August 9, 2023, the fourth and final season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will feature the return of Frankie Rodriguez (Carlos), Kate Reinders (Miss Jenn), Mark St. Cyr (Mr. Mazzara), Matt Cornett (E.J.), Larry Saperstein (Big Red) and Joe Serafini (Seb), among others.
