As the third season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series comes to an end on September 14, Disney used the D23 Expo 2022 event to reveal what’s in store for East High students in Season 4.
Returning from summer camp, the drama club students are asked to adapt High School Musical 3: Senior Year, again under the direction of Miss Jenn (Kate Reinders). But, a major twist awaits them as the school is being used for the filming of the highly anticipated High School Musical 4: The Reunion. A feature film in which they will all have roles as extras.
In addition to Kate Reinders, season 4 of High School Musical: The Series will see the return of Joshua Bassett (Ricky), Sofia Wylie (Gina), Matt Cornett (E.J.), Julia Lester (Ashlyn), Dara Reneé (Kourtney) and Frankie A. Rodriguez (Carlos).
The original cast in numbers in season 4?
The synopsis revealed by Disney suggests that several members of the original trilogy will be present in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season 4. And that might explain why some of the original cast members have been taking pictures outside East High in recent weeks.
So far, only KayCee Stroh (Martha Cox), Lucas Grabeel (Ryan Evans) and Corbin Bleu (Chad Danforth) have appeared on the Disney+ series.
While we wait for a possible High School Musical cast reunion on the small screen, you can experience one this November during the Back to the Musical World 2 convention. The event, which will be taking place on November 12 and 13 in Paris, will reunite Bart Johnson, Drew Seeley, Kenny Ortega, Lucas Grabeel and Vanessa Hudgens.
