The series Monk, which brought happiness to USA Network for eight seasons, will soon return to the small screen in the form of a movie. A project initiated by Andy Breckman, creator of the original series, and the Peacock platform, which had already done the same with Psych.

Titled Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie, the feature film will see Tony Shalhoub reprise his role as Adrian Monk, a brilliant San Francisco detective suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder. The actor, who won several awards for his performances in the original series, will not be the only cast member to return for this reunion film. Traylor Howard (Natalie Teeger), Jason Grey-Stanford (Randall Disher), Ted Levine (Leland Stottlemeyer), Melora Hardin (Trudy Monk) and Hector Elizondo (Dr. Neven Bell) will also be returning.

As for the story of Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie, the official synopsis tells us that we will follow Adrian Monk as he tries to solve a very personal investigation involving his stepdaughter Molly, a journalist who is about to get married. The character of Molly has only appeared once in the series, in the last episode. She was then played on screen by Alona Tal (SEAL Team). Peacock did not specify, at the moment, if the actress will reprise her role in this movie meeting.
