Joe Locke, best known for his role as Charlie Spring in Heartstopper, will be busy in the coming months. While he’s expected to appear in the upcoming Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, he’ll be taking a break from filming for the Broadway stage.
According to the official Instagram account of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, the British actor has been chosen to join the cast of the musical. He will play Tobias Ragg, a central character in Thomas Kail‘s show. Before Joe Locke, another Netflix star played the role on Broadway: Gaten Matarazzo, Dustin on Stranger Things.
Joe Locke will make his debut in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on January 31, 2024. He will share the stage with musical regulars Aaron Tveit and Sutton Foster. They will play Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett, respectively, starting February 9, 2024.
