Julianne Moore joins the cast of The Hunger Games

Julianne Moore, who will soon be starring in the new adaptation of “Carrie”, joins the cast of The Hunger Games in a central role for the latest films in the saga.

The information was provided by Lionsgate a few days ago and immediately published on Deadline. Julianne Moore, the four-time Oscar nominee, will be a key member of the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and 2. She will play President Alma Coin, leader of the rebellion and of District 13.

Three other characters have found their performers. Annie Cresta, Finnick Odair’s girlfriend (Sam Clafin), will be played by actress Stef Dawson. Messalla, who is part of the TV crew that follows Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), will be played by Evan Ross, son of singer Diana Ross. Lastly, actress Natalie Dormer, known for her roles in The Tudors and Game of Thrones, will play Cressida, one of the rebels of District 13.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will be on theatres on November 26, 2014 while Part 2 will not be in theatres until November 25, 2015. In the meantime, you can find Katniss and Peeta in the second installment of The Hunger Games on November 27, 2013.
