The Glee Club is making a comeback on TV! More than ten years after its final episode aired, Glee is set to get a reboot officially commissioned by Disney.
Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan, the series—which aired on FOX from 2009 to 2015—followed the members of a singing club at McKinley High School. Under the guidance of Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), students with very different personalities and backgrounds came together through their shared passion for music. Between choir competitions, love stories, and the challenges of adolescence, the series tackled numerous social issues while putting its own spin on popular songs.
A few weeks before the official announcement of the reboot, Ryan Murphy had already mentioned the project. At the premiere of Season 13 of American Horror Story, he revealed that he had finished a script for the reboot, written with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. He also explained that he was in contact with about ten members of the original cast, who had expressed enthusiasm for the idea of a return.

Disney has not yet revealed the plot of this new version, nor has it confirmed the return of the original characters. According to Variety, however, Lea Michele is expected to reprise her role as Rachel Berry. Two other actors have also hinted on social media that they might be part of the project: Heather Morris, who played Brittany Pierce, and Chord Overstreet, who played Sam Evans.
The reboot will air on Disney+ and Hulu, but no release date has been announced yet. While waiting to learn more about this new version, fans of the series can gather at Gleek Con, a convention entirely dedicated to Glee that will take place on March 27 and 28, 2027, in Paris. Several actors from the original series have already been announced for the event, including Matthew Morrison, Heather Morris, Chord Overstreet, Kevin McHale, and Amber Riley.
