What are the series renewed recently by the channels and streaming platforms? Let’s take a look.

Euphoria

Season 2 of Euphoria is currently a hit on HBO and, without much surprise, the American network has decided to offer a third season to the series starring Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Angus Cloud, Maude Apatow, Jacob Elordi and Barbie Ferreira.

About the renewal, Francesca Orsi, EVP of HBO Programming, said in a statement quoted by Deadline: “Sam (Levinson, creator of the series), Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart. We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3″.

Yellowstone

The great story continues on Paramount Network for Yellowstone. Launched rather confidentially in 2018, the series has, over the seasons, managed to gather a large fan base to make it one of the most watched programs on cable.

Without much surprise, the American channel has therefore made official the season 5 of Yellowstone, which will begin shooting in May. The cast includes Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Gil Birmingham and Jefferson White.

Children Ruin Everything

The Canadian comedy Children Ruin Everything starring Meaghan Rath (Hawaii 5-0) and Aaron Abrams (Blindspot) has been renewed for a second season of 16 episodes by CTV. The number of episodes is twice as many as the first season, proof of the Canadian network’s confidence in this series created by Kurt Smeason (Schitt’s Creek).

For those unfamiliar with Children Ruin Everything, the series follows Astrid (Meaghan Rath) and James (Aaron Abrams) as they struggle to balance their roles as parents with who they were before they had their children.

Mayor of Kingstown

Paramount+ has decided to renew the series Mayor of Kingstown starring Jeremy Renner, Dianne Wiest, Hugh Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, Taylor Handley and Emma Laird.

Following the renewal for this second season, Tanya Giles, chief programming officer for ViacomCBS Streaming, said, “With ‘Mayor of Kingstown’, Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon offer a nuanced portrayal of the United States’ harsh prison system. The stellar crew and cast, including Jeremy Renner and Dianne Wiest, delivered a thought-provoking, intense drama that kept audiences captivated and yearning for more. […] We look forward to bringing fans back to Kingstown next season.”

Antoine Fuqua, executive producer of the series, adds, “’Mayor of Kingstown’ is such an important project that offers a comprehensive look into the brutal prison system and I am thrilled to continue the journey with Taylor and team for Season 2.”

The L Word: Generation Q

A few months after the end of the second season of The L Word: Generation Q, Showtime has confirmed that the series will return for a new ten-episode season. Season 3 is expected to air sometime in 2022.

In the cast of this sequel of The L Word, we find Jennifer Beals, Katherne Moening, Leisha Hailey, Arienne Mandi, Rosanni Zayas, Jacqueline Toboni, Leo Sheng and Sepideh Moafi.

The Game

The Game, a series that looks at black culture through the lens of professional soccer, will return for a second season on Paramount+.

Nicole Clemens, president of original content at Paramount+, says that “we look forward to what Devon and his team have in store for us next season on and off the field.” She adds, “With ample humor and heart, Devon Greggory reimagined an iconic series, brought back beloved legacy characters and introduced new fan favorites”.

The Game has in its cast Wendey Raquel Robinson, Hosea Chanchez, Adriyan Rae, Vaughn W. Hebron, Toby Sanderman, Cecil Blutcher and Analisa Velez.
