Casting News: Tom Ellis signs a new contract to play Lucifer, Yael Grobglas starring in a dark comedy, actors leaving Legends of Tomorrow and The Good Fight, ...

Departures, new contract, casting for new projects. Let’s take a look at the casting announcements of the last few days.

Lucifer – Netflix
Tom Ellis has officially signed a new contract for a possible Lucifer Season 6. Negotiations lasted longer than expected because of differences between the actor and Warner Bros. This signature increases considerably our chances to see the series come back for an additional season on Netflix whereas season 5 was supposed to be the final season.(Source)

Pandora – The CW
Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), whose character appears in the finale of the first season of Pandora, will return as a recurring character during season 2. She plays Laura, a mysterious woman that Jax (Priscilla Quintana) seems to think is her mother. (Source)

Here She Lies – HBO Max
Yael Grobglas (Jane The Virgin) is expected to be the star of the HBO Max dark comedy Here She Lies. Created by Jennie Snyder Urman, the series will follow a pathological liar with a tragic past who can’t escape the web of lies she has woven. (Source)

Nine Perfect Strangers – Hulu
Manny Jacinto (The Good Place) teams up with Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy in the limited series Nine Perfect Strangers. Adapted from the novel by Liane Moriarty, this series takes place in a seaside resort offering alternative practices where nine stressed city dwellers try to find a better way of life. Manny Jacinto will play Yao, a man-child, who is the right-hand man of Masha (Nicole Kidman), owner of the seaside resort (Source)

Power Book III: Raising Kanan – Starz
Ade Chike Tobert (East Los High) will be part of the Power Book III: Raising Kanan series and will play Scrappy, a loyal “soldier” of Raq. He reluctantly watches over Kanan and teaches him the inner mechanics of the family business. (Source)

Virgin River – Netflix
Sarah Dugdale (Mystery 101) has been chosen to be part of the cast for season two of Virgin River. She will play Lizzie, a young woman who was sent to the remote California town of Virgin River by her parents after she was caught shoplifting.

Grayson Gurnsey, already cast in season 1, has been promoted to a series regular for season 2. (Source)

The Good Fight – CBS All Access
Cush Jumbo, already part of the cast of The Good Wife, leaves The Good Fight at the end of season 4. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the season has been shortened by four episodes and the creators of the series did not have the opportunity to properly conclude the storyline of Lucca Quinn. Everyone hopes that the actress’s schedule will allow her to appear as a guest in season 5 and provide a proper conclusion to her plot. (Source)

Legends of Tomorrow – The CW
Maisie Richardson-Sellers will not be returning for season 6 of Legends of Tomorrow. The actress herself made that announcement on her social networks.
