James Gunn‘s Superman movie, previously known as Superman: Legacy, is expected to hit theaters in July 2025 and will feature another iconic character from the Man of Steel universe. After Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) and Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo), it’s now Perry White’s turn to be confirmed as one of the characters in the Clark Kent/Superman (David Corenswet) centered feature film.
To portray the iconic editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, the Superman production teams have turned to a key figure from the small screen: Wendell Pierce. The American actor is best known for his roles in The Wire, Suits, Jack Ryan, Treme, Ray Donovan and The Odd Couple. His film credits include Selma, Malcolm X, Four and Ray.
The character of Perry White has previously been portrayed on screen by Jackie Cooper (Superman films with Christopher Reeve), Frank Langella (Superman Returns) and Laurence Fishburne (Snyderverse films).
