A few days apart, Warner Bros has released two trailers for its movie The Suicide Squad directed by James Gunn. The first one is full of action and is Rated-R (just like the movie), the second one is more focused on the characters that will compose Amanda Waller’s (Viola Davis) new team of super-villains.
In this new movie from the DC Universe, we will be heading to Belle Reve, the prison that holds the record of the highest death rate in the United States! It’s where the world’s worst supervillains are held, ready to do anything to escape – even if it means joining the sinister and top-secret Task Force X. The team, including Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), Savant (Michael Rooker), King Shark (Sylvester Stallone), Blackguard (Pete Davidson), Javelin (Flula Borg) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), will travel to the lost island of Corto Maltese to take down powerful enemies. All this under the supervision of Colonel Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) and Amanda Waller, ready to eliminate them at the slightest mistake.
The Suicide Squad is expected to hit theaters on July 29. Warner Bros. is undoubtedly hoping that this new version of the super-villain team will be better received than David Ayer‘s.
