A few days after the end of the Hollywood strike, James Gunn, director of Superman: Legacy, has confirmed that his feature film about the Kryptonian superhero, which is expected to start a new era for the DC Universe, will be released as planned in July 2025. As a result, casting announcements will follow in quick succession over the coming weeks, starting with the addition of María Gabriela de Faría to the cast.
The Venezuelan actress, who played a student at King’s Dominion, a school for assassins, in Deadly Class, will once again be on the wrong side of the law for Superman: Legacy. According to Deadline, she’ll take on the role of Angela Spica, aka The Engineer, as part of James Gunn‘s team of villains.
In Superman: Legacy, María Gabriela de Faría will join David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, the new faces of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, as well as Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner/Green Lantern), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific) and Anthony Carrigan (Rex Mason/Metamorpho).
