The Suicide Squad movie has a new recruit according to the Instagram account of its director and screenwriter James Gunn. In a post published on November 14, 2020, Gunn announced that Sylvester Stallone would make an appearance in the new movie centered on the DC Comics and Warner Bros. super villains team. This information was later confirmed by the actor himself on his social networks.

In his Instagram message, James Gunn states: “Always love working with my friend Sylvester Stallone & our work today on #TheSuicideSquad was no exception. Despite Sly being an iconic movie star, most people still don’t have any idea what an amazing actor this guy is.”

The Suicide Squad is scheduled to be out in theatres on August 6, 2021. This new installment will feature the return of some characters from the movie by David Ayer released in 2016, mainly those played by Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) and Jai Courtney (Boomerang). Viola Davis (Amanda Waller) and Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg) will also be part of the cast and they will be accompanied by new recruits: Nathan Fillion (T.D.K.), Idris Elba (Bloodsport) and John Cena (Peacemaker).
