We know the new faces of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane for the DC Universe! While three actors and three actresses were still in the running to play these roles in Superman: Legacy, the final decision was made on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Let’s take a look.

A new Superman in theaters in 2025

After several weeks of research and various tests over the past few days, DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran have made their choices for the new roles of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane.

After Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill, it’s David Corenswet‘s turn to take on the heavy responsibility of wearing the suit of the Man of Steel on the big screen. Best known for his roles in Ryan Murphy‘s Netflix series The Politician and Hollywood, David Corenswet was chosen over Nicholas Hoult (X-Men, Skins) and Tom Brittney (Grantchester, Unreal).

For the role of Lois Lane, Emma Mackey (Sex Education, Barbie) seemed to be the favorite in recent days. However, James Gunn and Peter Safran finally chose Rachel Brosnahan, an actress who has been making waves since 2017 thanks to her performances in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Before that, she appeared in House of Cards, Manhattan and Patriots Day. She follows in the footsteps of Margot Ridder, Kate Bosworth and Amy Adams, Lois Lane’s predecessors on the big screen.

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan will play these new roles for the first time in Superman: Legacy. Directed by James Gunn, this feature film is scheduled for release in 2025 and will allow DC to begin a new chapter in its history.
