Oscars: all the nominees of the 2022 edition

The Academy unveiled this Tuesday, February 8 the nominations for the 2022 Oscars. With 12 nominations, The Power of the Dog, the movie by Jane Campion, is in the lead and will try to win the Oscar for best picture. Note that Jane Campion is the first woman to get two nominations for the Oscar for Best Director. She had already been nominated for this award in 1994 for the movie The Piano.

Just behind The Power of the Dog is Denis Villeneuve‘s feature film Dune, with 10 nominations. Although the director was not nominated for Best Director, his film is in the running for the most prestigious award: Best Picture.

In third place, there are two films with seven nominations: Belfast by Kenneth Branagh and West Side Story by Steven Spielberg. These two films will also try to win the Oscar for Best Picture.
